This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. These
individuals may have general management accountabilities. Individuals in these roles carry out complex
tasks in a specialist field of expertise. They may undertake technical research and analysis, and will often
contribute to setting the strategic direction for a work area. The qualification is suited to individuals who are
responsible for the supervision and leadership of a team or work area (including by managing staff
performance and making staffing decisions).

After achieving the BSB60120 Advanced Diploma of Business, students may undertake further study to
Bachelor Degree or other Advanced Diploma Level

Entry Requirements

  • Entry to this qualification is limited to those who:
    • Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (current orsuperseded equivalent versions). or
    • Have two years’ equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience in an operational or leadership role in an enterprise.
  • Learners must be over 18 years of age.
  • All international students must be able to demonstrate an IELTS 5.5 level of English language or
    equivalent. They need to have completed their education to a level which is equivalent to an
    Australian Senior High School, College or University.

Course Duration

This program is delivered 20 hours /week full time study,15 hours face-to-face and 5 hours online using
Moodle as platform, entirely off-the-job at SIBN campus through a combination of face-to-face trainer-
led classes and practical classes involving small group and individual activities.


Calendar Year: Seventy-eight (78) weeks

Academic Year: Sixty (60) weeks

Terms: 6x 10 weeks = 60 weeks

Term breaks: 6x3 weeks = 18 weeks

Allocated hours: 1500 hours
